Zimbra

Has anyone had any experience of this product yet? http://www.zimbra.com/

They have just been acquired by VMware and the product seems like a viable alternative to MS Exchange and includes Blackberry and iPhone sync. There is even an Open Source offering.

I am going to get my techy types to download the 60 day free trial and have a play but if anyone has any knowledge a heads up would be appreciated.

Cheers

As for Exchange, or any equivalents, all it does is complicate email and calendar. Everything already exists in the email and ical open standards. There's simply no need to have your own intermediate email server. That was a micro$oft invention.

A lot of companies are switching to cloud solutions like Google mail and calendar. They work better than exchange, are zero maintenance and more effective at dealing with spam etc.
